I have not really posted anything for a long time..But I am running a web 2.0 workshop for some staff on Monday and so I want to show them all how easy it is to blog...and also to think of some blogs that we may create as staff...so......

I have just had a look at the list of winners from the Web 2.0 awards.. I am now a member of last.fm which I will use to find music..it goes through your own music library and recommends other music that is like what you own.. again I am amazed at what Web 2.0 tools can do.. I also had a look at HipCal, which is a personal organisation tool... did not become a member though...might in the future.

Zoho Writer & Google docs

I just used Zoho Writer and Google Docs for the firat time and I must say I am impressed. Even though my previous blog does not really look that good (I admit it), it was cool to make something in Zoho writer and then have Zoho Writer post it to my blog...very smart.

Am getting towards the end of the 23 things and I will really need to start thinking about how to introduce this program into my own work....hmmm could be interesting...

first time

This is my first time using 'Zoho Writer'... it seems to be a fairly easy thing to use?  I am practising with different fonts etc.

Wikis...

Well, I use Wikipedia all of the time and really love it to get access to up to date information...like who has been voted off 'Rockstar' or other important news like that.
I had a look around today at a few otehr Wikis and have realised that they are a great way to share information and in a staff setting, they are a great way to allow for inclusiveness from staff.

Hmmm, am now thinking about how to use a Wiki in my library!

Still working through Learning 2.0

I have had a look at Library Thing and love it..have started to catalogue my own books, check out 'my library'!

Have also had a look at some online image generators... interesting, very interesting! Made a book cover...a bit wanky I know... anyway, onto the next lesson :-)

Bloglines and RSS feeds

I have been very slack and have not even looked at 'Learning 2.0' for at least a month. Back I am back into it today and have just completed week 4 - which is all about looking at RSS feeds. I had a heap of blogs in my favourites but I would just open each page to read them, this way I should be able to go through it a bit quicker and will easily be able to tell if there are new posts or not..... will have to wait and see how it goes....
When I went to create an account with Bloglines, I found that I already had an account - so I think I must of looked once, but couldn't work it out - seems to be very easy though :-)

Week 3 Learning 2.0 - Photos and Images

I have finished week three - and I loved everything that I learnt. Basically it was all about Flickr. I had an idea what Flickr was, and I had used it a few times to find photos of things...but I didn't realise everything else that you can do with it.

At the moment my fave thing is the Colour Picker, or in US english, color picker! Check it out.

And I even uploaded two photos!

First Post

Well, here it is! I am currently working through 'Learning 2.0' and am up to week 2, although I started it 3 weeks ago, had a week off in the middle!

Week two states that you should create a blog and post to it. Hopefully once I complete 'Learning 2.0' I will have lots of interesting things that I can contnue to post to my blog. I am returning to my position as 'Manager Organisation Development' at CHRLC in 5 weeks time, and one of my jobs is going to be to coordinate the Learning 2.0 project for all staff to complete, just like Yarra Plenty Library Corporation.

So thats it, my first post..... done!
